VeenIX (A9BAHO) and KPMG Lentemarathon Amstelveen enter into a three-year partnership

VeenIX, the consortium commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat to widen the A9 between the junctions Badhoevedorp and Holendrecht (A9BAHO), is joining the KPMG Lentemarathon Amstelveen for three years. VeenIX has been actively involved in this mobility project since 2019 and, as an active player in the Amstelveen region, is eager to contribute to the event.

The A9BAHO project forms the final link in the road expansion between Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere. Because much of the marathon route crosses the A9, the link to VeenIX was quickly established.

Ton Hayes, Project Director at VeenIX, responds enthusiastically to the collaboration: “Project VeenIX is delighted to announce this partnership with the KPMG Lentemarathon Amstelveen. The city of Amstelveen is a very important and valued partner during the project. Because the marathon runs through the city of Amstelveen we find it important to contribute to this sportive and social event”.

Roy van Damme, organizer of the KPMG Lentemarathon Amstelveen: “With VeenIX we have found a great partner who is taking huge steps for the city of Amstelveen. Their ambitions align well with those of the KPMG Lentemarathon. We are happy to welcome them as a partner!”

Expansion of A9 around Amstelveen

Rijkswaterstaat is widening the A9 between the Badhoevedorp and Holendrecht interchanges to four lanes per direction and is constructing a changing lane. The extra lanes will improve traffic flow and therefore the accessibility of the northern Randstad. It will also improve the quality of life in the area. Near Amstelveen, we are constructing a 1.6km long stretch of the A9 at a depth, with three crossovers: one at Oude Dorp, one at Stadshart and one at Bovenlandpad. Along Amstelveen and Ouder-Amstel we are building a total of fourteen kilometers of sound barriers. The widening of the A9 Badhoevedorp – Holendrecht is the last project of the Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere (SAA) road widening project.
