Fifth Edition of the KPMG Lentemarathon Once Again a Successful Celebration of Sportsmanship in Amstelveen

Nearly 6000 participants have today shown their character and perseverance when they successfully completed the distance of their choosing at the KPMG Lentemarathon Amstelveen 2024. On a day with perfect running weather, it was the enthusiastic participants and supporters who made the sun shine in the heart of Amstelveen.

Encouraged by countless fans at the Stadshart and over the entire route, the participants ran through the Amsterdamse Bos, through the Old Village, through the polders, along the Amstel, and through the (literal) heart of the city of Amstelveen. In the Stadshart Amstelveen shopping center, over 250 enthusiastic children ran the Kids Run, and at the square, the walkers were catered to their needs with the 5 kilometer and 10 kilometer Lentewandeling.

“It was an awesome race. It was very windy but I’m glad I won,” says the winner of the KPMG Lentemarathon Aleksandr Tsaplin. “Thanks to the organization.” Tsaplin completed the 42.195km in 2 hours, 31 minutes, and 48 seconds. The first woman to finish was Eleonora Olsmats in 3 hours, 6 minutes, and 48 seconds.

Organizer Roy van Damme: “We are pleased with a successful event. All participants put their best foot forward and they all safely crossed the finish line. This year, even more than before, we saw many people from Amstelveen outside encouraging our participants.

“Next year, the KPMG Lentemarathon will return on Sunday, March 16. We already can’t wait to come back again!”
